In a world of comic companies using the same rehashed cover concepts that have sold for years, there are truly few remaining great untapped comic designs. This is one of them. I think having such a bright and undefined background really makes the severity of the gruesomeness appear even more so.

The very simple credits are classy and in just the right spot that I actually want to read them.

The only two real criticisms I have with the piece are really just technical in nature. Just design decisions I myself wouldn't have made but are truly just artistic license anyway. Those issues are:

1. The hair length of the main character is significantly shorter in the Imprint Icon than it is on the cover character image.
Even the extreme angle of the piece would not account for a difference of such significance.

2. From the angle with which you have the Logo oriented, I think the lensflare behind the main character would look much better if placed behind the logo. As the Sun is an extremely far away light source, it makes it seem a little off to have it in front of the title. This would also make your logo stand out much more. What's the point in making a cool logo (Which it is.) for your first issue if its gonna be obscured? Logo's do play an important factor in catching the attention on already crowded comic book shelves.

All in all, this is a very skilled piece and the uniqueness of the layout actually piqued my interest as to what was going on in the pages inside. You really can't praise a comic book cover any more than that.
